Covid 19 Response
Introduction
The outbreak of the coronavirus has become a major disruption to colleges and universities across the country, with the closure of in-person activities declared by the government until the epidemic came under control. The pandemic also threatens to significantly alter nearly every aspect of college life, from admissions and enrollment to collegiate sports and extracurricular activities. These concerns extend to the financial future of higher education institutions in a time of considerable financial instability, both in the form of unexpected costs and potential reductions in revenue.
Immediate Challenges and Responses
The immediate challenge was to ensure safety of our students and staff at the outbreak and the second challenge was to cope with the new normal. HSMSS is proud to have exhibited resilience to the challenges related to completing the course, preparing students for their board exams and preparing the next academic year. HSMSS immediately decided to resort to the available technologies to create an environment for teachers and students to virtually continue the teaching learning activities. Our response focused on capacity building, availing software technogolies and technical support to teachers and students within a short span of time.
Campus Closures
On 6th March 2020, owing to the risk of outbreak in the Hetauda Area and the government’s decision to lockdown the whole country, HSM closed all the onsite academic and administrative activities at the HSM campus. All the staff, both academic and administrative, have been working in WFH mode where they have been working together with HSMSS to tackle the new situation created by the outbreak. Online Classes Hetauda School of Management is the first higher education institution in Makawanpur District to start online classes to continue normal teaching activities.
RESTART OF OFFLINE CLASSES
Post the nationwide vaccination campaign and control of the outbreak, HSMSS has finally been able to restart its regular classes without any hastles amongst the students. With positive results, and good succeding marks, we have been able to see more productive outcomes in the capabilities of our students, staffs and well wishers.
